"Utah County will likely be able to avoid full-time layoffs for the 2009 budget, but as of Tuesday, the sheriff’s department will leave 15 positions unfilled and eight employees will have to take a pay cut.
“I have not filled positions since the middle of the year,” said Sheriff Jim Tracy, who added that actual layoffs or not, service will be diminished." -Daily Herald
Hopefully this means less speed traps coming in and out of Eagle Mountain on Ranches Parkway and Eagle Mountain Blvd.
